African Buffalo & Cape Buffalo

The African Buffalo is a very successful grazer, and inhabits swamps, forests, floodplains and grasslands. They are completely capable in defending themselves against predators like lions (and have been known to kill attacking lions) and it usually takes an entire pack of lions to kill a Buffalo. They are black in colour, the males larger than the females, with a horn span of up to 147cm.
