Gary player was voted the 'South African Sportsman of the Century' for the 20th Century. With his brilliant performance on the golf course during his pro-golfer career that span quite a few decades, this came as no surprise.

Gary Player boasts 163 international tournament victories.

Player turned proffesional in 1953. His first tournament wins were made in 1955. In the 1974 Brazillian Open Gary Player scored the lowest mark, 59, for a proffesional round.
